Cookies Policy

What cookies and similar technologies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Sites also commonly use similar browser storage technologies — such as local storage — to remember information between visits. This policy covers both, and explains exactly what Endo Protocol uses today, rather than a generic list of everything a website could use.

What we currently use

Endo Protocol keeps this deliberately minimal. Today, the platform uses:

  • one strictly necessary sign-in cookie to keep you signed in (plus a small marker cookie if you choose not to stay logged in); and
  • your browser’s local storage, to run the diary and community features and to remember a small number of preferences.

We do not currently run analytics, advertising or behavioural tracking of any kind on the platform.

Strictly necessary cookies

CookiePurposeDuration
sb-…-auth-tokenKeeps you signed in to your member account (set by our authentication provider, Supabase, when you log in). It is required for the portal, diary, community and account pages to work and cannot be switched off if you want to use those features.Until you log out, for up to about 13 months. If you untick “Keep me logged in on this device”, it ends when you close your browser.
ep_session_onlyRemembers that you unticked “Keep me logged in on this device”, so your login ends when the browser closes. It is only set if you untick that box and holds no personal information.Until you close your browser or log out

Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent under Australian or equivalent overseas cookie-consent law, because the site cannot function without them.

Local storage (not a cookie, but similar)

Some member content — including your diary entries, community posts, and a couple of interface preferences (such as whether sound effects are on) — is saved in your browser’s local storage rather than sent to our servers, unless our optional hosted database is enabled for your account. This is stored only on your own device, is not shared with third parties, and is not used for tracking or advertising. You can clear it at any time from your browser’s settings — see Managing your cookie preferences below. Doing so will remove any diary or community content that was never synced to our hosted database.

What we don’t currently use

To be specific about what this platform does not do:

  • no analytics cookies or scripts (for example, no Google Analytics or similar);
  • no advertising or ad-retargeting cookies or pixels;
  • no social-media tracking widgets; and
  • no cross-site tracking of any kind.

If this changes in future — for example, if we add product analytics to understand how the portal is used — we will update this policy first and ask for your consent where the law requires it. Any future analytics would never include the content of your diary entries or quiz free-text answers.

Cookies set by third parties

Our payment processor, Stripe, may set its own cookies during checkout for fraud prevention and to process your payment. These are set by the payment processor directly and are governed by its own cookie and privacy policy, not this one.

Managing your cookie preferences

Because Endo Protocol does not currently use optional cookies, there is no on-site cookie-preference banner to manage — the only cookie in use is strictly necessary for signing in.

You can still control cookies and local storage generally through your browser:

  • most browsers let you view, delete or block cookies from their privacy or security settings;
  • you can clear local storage for this site from the same settings, or from your browser’s developer tools; and
  • blocking or deleting the sign-in cookie will sign you out and prevent you from using the member portal until you sign in again.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if what we use changes — for example, if we introduce analytics or a payment processor with different cookie behaviour. We will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page when we do.
